Compare Orvelt and Qualtrics for public opinions, advanced research, distribution, anonymity, analytics, APIs, and cost.

BusinessComparisons

Orvelt and Qualtrics can both collect experience feedback, but they serve different programs. Qualtrics is an enterprise research and experience-management platform with advanced survey design, distribution, analysis, and administration. Orvelt connects a public opinion to business-defined questions, private answers, owner responses, and experience-verification context.

Short answer: choose Qualtrics for sophisticated studies, panels, employee or customer experience programs, and enterprise research governance. Choose Orvelt when one customer record should combine public trust, concise guided feedback, selective privacy, and verification.

Compare research depth

Use Qualtrics for complex instruments

Qualtrics supports more research methods. Its question catalog includes multiple choice, text entry, matrices, form fields, calendars, sliders, rank order, side-by-side questions, NPS, timing, constant sum, file upload, signatures, heat maps, video responses, and other specialist types. Some types require an add-on or a particular product.

Survey Flow can order blocks, branch on answers or embedded data, randomize content, authenticate respondents, apply quotas, and change end-of-survey behavior. Display logic controls individual questions. These tools support concept testing, longitudinal studies, employee research, customer-experience measurement, conjoint analysis, and studies with formal sampling or experimental design.

Orvelt uses a smaller question model:

  • free text;
  • one selected option;
  • several selected options;
  • tags and numeric priority;
  • active or archived state;
  • default or private response visibility.

This scope fits short diagnostic questions during an opinion session. It does not replace Qualtrics for randomized experiments, long instruments, complex scoring, panels, or advanced methodology.

Compare identity, privacy, and public output

Keep respondent anonymity separate from public presentation

A Qualtrics anonymous link does not collect a name or email unless the survey asks for it. By default, however, it records an IP address and IP-derived location. Enable Anonymize Responses before collection if the study must omit those fields. Qualtrics also supports individual links that associate responses with contact-list data, one-time personal links, authenticators, passwords, and invitation-only surveys.

Orvelt gives contributors two different controls. A customer can use anonymous presentation on the public opinion, and a business can mark a specific question's answer private. Other answers and the main opinion can remain public. This mixed-disclosure model lets the public see the customer's conclusion while authorized business members receive a sensitive diagnostic answer.

Qualtrics can publish a live report or supported public dashboard, sometimes with a passcode. That shares aggregate findings. It does not create a business profile where each contribution has an owner response, comments, votes, bookmarks, subscriptions, and a public verification marker.

Choose Qualtrics for research-grade respondent controls. Choose Orvelt when public and private parts of one customer contribution need distinct presentation rules.

Compare distribution and verification

Decide whether delivery is a research channel or part of the opinion record

Qualtrics supports a wider set of collection channels. Teams can use its mailer, reusable anonymous links, one-time individual or personal links, websites, app intercepts, social posts, SMS, QR codes, an offline mobile app, and mobile SDKs. Email distributions can track sends, bounces, starts, completions, reminders, and thank-you messages. Product and license determine access to some channels.

Orvelt keeps delivery focused on a business project:

  • a customer can start from the public project;
  • an origin allow-list protects the embedded question widget;
  • permanent and rotating project QR codes record which code type opened the draft;
  • an addressed link expires and stores customer reference and metadata server-side;
  • the resulting opinion can carry visual-evidence, customer-delivery, permanent-QR, or rotating-QR verification.

Qualtrics personal links are stronger for survey campaign tracking. Orvelt's addressed link is stronger when the delivery path should become a visible or inspectable part of an ongoing opinion record.

Compare analytics and data access

Choose statistical analysis or operational opinion data

Qualtrics can filter and recode responses, build reports and dashboards, analyze text, and export rows to CSV, TSV, XLSX, XML, SPSS, Google Drive, and other formats. Its API v3 response export uses three steps: start the export, poll its progress, then download the compressed file. Event subscriptions and survey-response workflows can notify external systems or post selected fields to a web service. Exact API rights depend on the license and administrator permissions.

Orvelt's Business API uses project-scoped keys and a generated TypeScript SDK. It can list opinions and individual answers, filter them, export CSV, manage project questions and goals, publish owner responses, create addressed links, and send opinion or answer events to a webhook.

Qualtrics better answers questions about a sample, segment, experiment, or experience program. Orvelt gives developers direct access to the public/private opinion record and its business workflow.

Compare pricing and procurement

Price the research program, not one survey

Orvelt publishes three plans:

  • Launch: $0, including 100 private answers per organization per month, 25 addressed links per project per month, 3 goals, and 5 active questions per project.
  • Growth: $40/month, or $384/year billed annually ($32/month effective), including 2,500 private answers, 1,000 addressed links, 15 goals, and 20 active questions per project.
  • Scale: $200/month, or $1,920/year billed annually ($160/month effective), including 15,000 private answers, 10,000 addressed links, 100 goals, and 100 active questions per project.

Qualtrics advertises a free survey account with 3 active surveys, 30 questions per survey, 8 question types, logic, and 500 responses. Its Strategic Research self-service offer starts at $420/month, billed as $5,040 annually, with 1,000 responses shared across users. Enterprise customer, employee, and product experience programs use contract pricing. Question types, distribution channels, API access, support, data residency, and analysis tools may depend on the agreement.

A Qualtrics quote can cover far more than a form builder. Compare the number of researchers, response volume, contact programs, survey methods, integrations, security requirements, and administration model. Compare Orvelt against the specific opinion and feedback workflow, not against every module in the Qualtrics XM portfolio.

Make the choice

Pick Orvelt when

  • Each contribution should support both a public opinion and selected private answers.
  • A public business storefront, owner response, and community engagement matter.
  • Visual-evidence, QR-code, or addressed-link context should accompany the record.
  • Your questions are concise and tied to one business project.
  • Your integration needs a typed, project-scoped opinion and answer API.

Pick Qualtrics when

  • Researchers need advanced logic, randomization, quotas, matrices, conjoint, MaxDiff, or specialist question types.
  • You run customer, employee, brand, product, or academic studies across many teams.
  • Contact lists, controlled distributions, formal anonymity, and research governance matter.
  • Analysts need advanced dashboards, statistics, text analysis, and research export formats.
  • Enterprise identity, administration, workflow, and procurement requirements drive the project.

Use both when

Use Orvelt for ongoing public opinions and short experience questions. Use Qualtrics for periodic or longitudinal studies that require richer methodology. Define which system owns consent and identity before linking records. Do not expose an anonymous Qualtrics response through a public Orvelt opinion unless the respondent has agreed to that use.
