Orvelt vs Typeform
Compare Orvelt and Typeform for public opinions, conversational forms, logic, identity, embeds, APIs, and pricing.
Typeform and Orvelt both aim to make structured feedback easier to complete. Typeform is a general form and survey platform known for polished, conversational presentation and branching. Orvelt connects short guided questions to a public business opinion, private answers, owner responses, and verification context.
Short answer: choose Typeform when form presentation, flexible fields, branching, lead capture, and embedding drive conversion. Choose Orvelt when the response must become a public opinion and retain business-project, privacy, and experience context.
Compare the operating model
Decide whether the form or the opinion is the product
| Area | Orvelt | Typeform |
|---|---|---|
| Primary job | Join public opinions with guided feedback, privacy, and verification | Build interactive forms, surveys, quizzes, lead flows, and applications |
| Public destination | Native business storefront and project pages | Shareable or embedded form; shareable reports, but no local-business review marketplace |
| Core response | Opinion plus optional project-question answers | Form response containing answers, variables, URL parameters, and form metadata |
| Question design | Text, single-select, and multi-select questions | Contact, choice, text, rating, scale, file upload, payment, scheduling, legal, and other field types; plan access varies |
| Logic | Guided active-question workflow | Branching, calculations, variables, conditions, and a visual Logic Map |
| Privacy and identity | Anonymous public presentation plus per-question private visibility | Forms are anonymous unless they ask for identity or receive it through URL parameters or integrations |
| Distribution | Public project, website widget, QR code, and expiring addressed link | Direct link, QR code, email, social channels, custom links, and several embed layouts |
| Verification | Visual evidence, addressed delivery, and permanent or rotating QR provenance | URL parameters and contact fields can identify or segment respondents; no native public purchase or visit verification marker |
| Engagement | Owner responses, comments, votes, bookmarks, and subscriptions | Follow-ups, notifications, shared reports, and integrations rather than a public discussion thread |
| Analytics | Project traffic, sources, opinions, subscribers, questions, and raw answer data | Views, starts, completions, completion rate, drop-off and conversion tools by plan, plus response reports |
| Developer access | Project keys, generated TypeScript SDK, CSV exports, and webhooks | Create and Responses APIs, Embed SDK, and signed real-time webhooks |
| Price | Published free, $40/month, and $200/month plans | Free plan plus Basic at $39/month, Plus at $79/month, Business at $129/month, and higher or custom tiers; annual billing lowers effective monthly rates |
Compare respondent experience and logic
Use Typeform when presentation affects completion
Typeform offers contact fields, multiple choice, dropdowns, picture choice, yes/no, text, ratings, scales, file upload, consent, payments, scheduling, and other question types. Its one-question-at-a-time presentation and visual customization suit lead generation, applications, product recommendations, quizzes, order forms, and branded surveys.
Branching can route respondents based on an answer, variable, or calculation. The Logic Map displays paths for review and troubleshooting. This gives Typeform more control than Orvelt over adaptive sequences and outcomes.
Orvelt keeps its question set to text, single-select, and multi-select. It adds fields that Typeform does not use as its organizing model: each question belongs to a business project, carries thematic tags and priority, can be active or archived, and defines whether its answer follows default visibility or remains private.
Use Typeform when the form journey itself must adapt. Use Orvelt when a short question set should enrich a public opinion without replacing it.
Compare identity and privacy
Do not mistake an anonymous form for a public anonymous opinion
Typeform states that forms are anonymous by default. To identify someone, ask for contact information, pass known data through URL parameters, or connect another identity source. That design works for anonymous surveys and identified lead forms, but URL parameters can expose values in browser history, logs, or analytics. Treat them as routing context, not as a place for secrets.
Orvelt separates presentation from business access. A contributor can use an anonymous public presentation, and each project question can keep its answer private to authorized business members. The opinion and its public answers remain available on the storefront.
Typeform responses stay in the owner's results unless the owner shares a report or exports the data. Orvelt expects completed opinions to serve a public audience, subject to the contributor's visibility choices and platform moderation. Choose the product whose default matches the intended audience.
Compare sharing, embeds, and provenance
Choose embed flexibility or experience-linked delivery
Typeform supports direct links, QR codes, email and social distribution, and multiple embed layouts: standard, full page, popup, slider, popover, and side tab. Its Embed SDK gives developers more control over launch behavior and placement. Typeform recommends a direct link where accessibility requirements make an untested embed unsuitable.
Orvelt provides an origin-restricted widget that selects up to three eligible active questions. It also provides a public project, permanent and rotating project QR codes, and an addressed expiring link whose customer reference and metadata remain server-side.
Typeform's embed catalog is broader and more presentation-oriented. Orvelt's channels carry domain meaning. An addressed link can add customer-delivery context, a project QR code can add permanent- or rotating-QR provenance, and visual evidence can add another signal.
Compare integrations and data access
Plan for real-time and historical retrieval
Typeform's Responses API retrieves stored submissions as JSON and supports pagination and time-based filtering. Typeform warns that very recent submissions may take time to appear in that API. Webhooks push new response data to an HTTPS endpoint, require a 2XX response, use a 30-second timeout, and can sign payloads with a secret. The Create API and Embed SDK support custom form tooling.
Orvelt's generated TypeScript SDK validates Business API responses against the product contract. Project keys can list opinions and answers, filter records, export CSV, manage questions and goals, create owner responses, issue addressed links, and configure opinion or answer webhooks.
Typeform gives developers a broad form platform. Orvelt exposes a narrower model with opinion, project, privacy, verification, owner-response, subscriber, and knowledge concepts already defined.
Compare analytics and public reach
Separate conversion analytics from reputation
Typeform can report views, starts, submissions, completion rate, and question-level drop-off, with analytics depth varying by plan. Responses can feed integrations, shared reports, and downstream marketing or CRM systems. Typeform has no native public local-business profile where customers browse accumulated opinions and owner responses.
Orvelt tracks project storefront views, unique sessions and visitors, sources, AI-bot traffic, opinions, subscribers, and question counts. Public opinion pages can include owner responses, comments, votes, and verification markers. This public layer serves future customers as well as the business.
Choose Typeform when you need to improve form conversion or move leads into a workflow. Choose Orvelt when the contribution should continue to exist as public reputation and community content.
Compare pricing and limits
Model monthly response volume
Orvelt publishes:
- Launch: $0.
- Growth: $40/month, or $384/year billed annually ($32/month effective).
- Scale: $200/month, or $1,920/year billed annually ($160/month effective).
Orvelt meters private answers, addressed links, goals, active questions, and extra teams.
Typeform's public pricing page, checked August 13, 2026, lists:
- Basic: $39/month, or $28/month billed annually, with 100 responses per month and 1 user.
- Plus: $79/month, or $56/month billed annually, with 1,000 responses per month and 3 users.
- Business: $129/month, or $91/month billed annually, with 10,000 responses per month and 5 users.
- Growth and Enterprise: higher-priced or custom packages for automation, enrichment, support, and larger programs.
Typeform also offers a free plan with limited monthly responses. Branding, users, response volume, analytics, integrations, and advanced growth tools vary by tier. Typeform notes that plan experiments can change the offer shown to an account, so confirm checkout terms.
Compare response volume carefully. A Typeform response is a full form submission. Orvelt meters private answers separately from the public opinion workflow. One Orvelt opinion may contain several question answers.
Make the choice
Pick Orvelt when
- A response should become a public business opinion.
- Selected answers must remain private while other content stays public.
- Visual-evidence, QR-code, or addressed-link context matters.
- Owner responses and community activity should remain attached to the contribution.
- Your data model should already understand business projects and opinion workflows.
Pick Typeform when
- A polished, branded form experience is central to conversion.
- You need richer field types, branching, calculations, variables, or outcome paths.
- Popups, side tabs, full-page embeds, and the Embed SDK matter.
- The workflow includes lead generation, applications, quizzes, payments, or scheduling.
- Your developers need generic form creation, responses, and webhook APIs.
Use both when
Use Orvelt for public opinions and concise feedback tied to a business project. Use Typeform for lead capture, applications, diagnostics, or longer adaptive surveys. If a Typeform response leads to an Orvelt invitation, keep the request neutral and explain how identity and answers will move between systems.
